The Power of Practice: Bringing School Experts to Pre-Service Classrooms
News

This week, students in the Language and Inclusion course had a visit from Mg. Javiera Romero, a Special Needs Teacher from Adolfo Matthei High School. The educational landscape is constantly evolving. External collaborators can provide up-to-date insights into current policies, emerging challenges, and best practices in the field. This keeps the pre-service curriculum relevant and forward-looking.

The specialist in Special Needs Education established guidelines and conceptualizations related to Inclusive Education within the framework of the English Language and Inclusion Topics course. The session fostered a productive dialogue that allowed future teachers to clarify doubts and share experiences regarding students on the autism spectrum, the main challenges faced by teachers in the school system, and aspects aligned with current regulations, including the General Education Law (Law 20,370), the Inclusion Law (Law 20,845), and Decree 83, which establishes guidelines and criteria for curricular adaptations.
