The English as a Foreign Language Teacher of Universidad de Los Lagos is a critical  and reflective professional with a solid theoretical and practical knowledge of the language at an advanced level, according to international standards of English language proficiency and current public policies, competent to solve problems related to the teaching and learning of English as a foreign language, management, innovation and pedagogical research, providing effective and relevant responses to the challenges that the environment demands from the profession.

They are also capable of collaboratively managing pedagogical processes, using and evaluating diverse teaching and learning strategies, ICT resources, and forms of evaluation, incorporating their solid knowledge in the area of research for decision making, which will allow them to assume an active role in their area of specialization within diverse educational communities. Likewise, he/she exercises his/her professional functions in integral terms, incorporating a pluralistic, inclusive and committed vision of his/her environment for decision making.
