REFLECTIVE PRACTICE: DISCIPLINARY DIDACTIC INTERACTION I
DESCRIPTION:

This curricular activity contributes to the graduate profile by being oriented to the critical-reflective practice to create pedagogical knowledge; promoting and facilitating sequenced, progressive, coherent and integrated experiences in the curricular trajectory and practice centers. The purpose of this practice is the initiation to teaching English as a Foreign Language. In addition, it also seeks to contribute to training of the pre-service teachers through an integrated work, which links students and academics of the university with the educational environment through bidirectional alliances that promote critical-reflective practices in all contexts, thus favoring an elite teacher education, whose graduates are capable of working at different levels of the Chilean educational system.


LEARNING OUTCOMES:

By the end of the module, students should

  1. Diagnose, analyze and interpret the reality of teaching English as a Foreign Language in the Chilean context
  2. Design and implement teaching activities: lesson planning, preparation of materials execution and evaluation of activities in conjunction with a collaborating teacher, following the annual planning of the subject.

TEACHING METHODS:

Workshops, one-on-one tutoring sessions, case studies, project-based learning.
