PROJECT IN APPLIED LINGUISTICS
DESCRIPTION:

This module aims to contribute to the graduate profile by addressing the functioning of the English language and how that knowledge can be used to benefit students' learning.

The objective is that the pre-service teacher can value the knowledge of the English language as a means of communication and a tool to access diverse sources of information. In this way, future teachers can use this knowledge to analyze the reality, identify and suggest modifications, and contribute to the overcoming of deficiencies in the teaching-learning of English as a foreign language and to the generation of theory, through the development of a research proposal.

LEARNING OUTCOMES:

By the end of the module, students should be able to

  1. To analyze situations of teaching-learning of English as a foreign language, identifying problems and proposing innovative solutions and adapting to different contexts of interaction.
  2. To develop and apply research methods to the analysis and solution of problems in the discipline or in the teaching-learning of English as a foreign language.
  3. To design a research proposal in the discipline and/or in the teaching-learning of English as a foreign language.

TEACHING METHODS:

Lectures, students’ active learning, collaborative work, project work, and presentations.
