LANGUAGE AND POLITICAL AND SOCIAL DISCOURSE
DESCRIPTION:

This curricular activity contributes to the graduate profile in the first semester by providing students with the development of a C1 level repertoire of linguistic elements and strategies that allow them to approach the argumentative components of political and social discourse.


LEARNING OUTCOMES:

By the end of the module, students should be able to

  1. Analyze concepts related to the topic of study to identify arguments using a C1 level of linguistic competence.
  2. Evaluate beliefs and rhetoric of a political and social discourse using communicative functions at a C1 language proficiency level.
  3. Criticize and adapt political and social discourses transforming beliefs and ideologies according to his/her personal and social vision using communicative functions at a C1 level of linguistic competence.

TEACHING METHODS:

Task-based work, case-studies, problem-solving activities, project work, and presentations.
