LANGUAGE AND ARGUMENTATION
DESCRIPTION:

This curricular activity contributes to the student graduate profile in the eighth semester by providing students with the development of an advanced repertoire, at C1 level, of linguistic elements and strategies that enable them to address situations in various communication contexts for teaching and personal and professional development. By the end of the semester, students should be capable of demonstrating argumentation competencies at the C1 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

Indirectly, this curricular activity contributes to the research area of the prospective secondary school English teacher. It focuses on cultivating critical thinking and argumentation skills that align with justifying the theoretical framework of their research project.


LEARNING OUTCOMES:

LO1 Analyzes written and oral arguments on a variety of controversial topics as they arise in daily life on a personal and professional level  using C1 level linguistic skills.

LO2 Criticizes written and oral statements applying rhetorical strategies according to purpose and context, using C1 level linguistic competences.
