The purpose of this curricular activity is to analyze and understand how language contributes to and mediates the establishment of social relationships in a variety of oral and written texts. It involves identifying the characteristics that prevail in discourse based on speakers and the communicative situation in which these forms of expression occur, all within the context of developing one's own thinking. The goal is to identify the thought structure of various genres, primarily written, by recognizing core information, relationships (articulation, organization), criteria for organization, conceptualizations, knowledge, explanation, reasoning, etc. In this way, this curricular activity contributes to the graduate profile by enhancing the knowledge and mastery of the English language for the prospective teacher to an advanced level (C1).
LO1 Analyzes different discursive genres in a critical way, establishing a relationship between discourse and the political and social context.
LO2 Evaluates texts to expose critical view of them in terms of their credibility, bias, relationship between sender and receiver, and social and power relations.
