LANGUAGE STRAND MEETING

On May first, the Language Strand of the English Pedagogy program met once again to address
issues related to Diagnostics, English proficiency tests, and (evaluative milestones) mid-program
competency check that not only assesses students' English level but also their pedagogical and
disciplinary competencies.
This committee is comprised of all the teachers who teach any subject within the English Language
Strand. The teachers in charge during the first semester of 2024 are as follows: Irene Ibacache,
Bernardo Mardones, Verónica Ormeño, Victor Peña, and Carmen Gloria Sáez. Also attending this
meeting was the director of the English Teaching Program, Professor Soledad Sandoval.
The working hours bore fruit, reaching significant agreements regarding the agenda set for this
meeting. Now it is time to present these agreements to the Program Council for approval or
rejection by the full council.
